Hold tight. Naeem Hanks aka Spank Rock, native of Baltimore, resident of Philadelphia, is about to blow your mind. Signed to Big Dada at the end of last year, the first Spank Rock album, produced by Armani xxxchange, will be out early in 2006. The music revels in next level bad taste booty lyrics and weird, wired production that sounds like the Dust Brothers doing Baltimore House. As for Naeem himself, he's just about the only MC in the States who lists Dizzee Rascal as a hero.
Spank are currently touring with MIA in the US, remixing Lady Sovereign in the UK and will soon be releasing ‘The Backyard Betty’ EP on white label, a fantastic introduction to the new new thing.
