En 2000, B+ réalise un court-métrage, avec les scratcheurs fous Dj Shadow, Cut Chemist et quelques Beat Junkies, appelés à jammer avec deux batteurs de légende, Paul Humphrey et James Gadson. Le court ouvre la tournée de Dj Shadow pour soutenir la sortie de son second album "The Private Press" et pas mal de monde s'extasie. B+ monte décide alors de monter un grand show à Los Angeles, pendant lequel des Djs et producteurs tels que Madlib, Dj Nu-Mark (Jurassic 5), Derf Reklaw, Shortkut, Cut Chemist ou J.Rocc allaient improviser avec ces deux mêmes batteurs en live. La vidéo qui en est tirée est proprement hallucinante!! Un classique à ranger entre "Scratch" et le "Wave Twisters" de Dj Q-Bert. Mais l'histoire ne s'arrête pas là. B+ a ensuite envoyé les pistes séparées du concert à un certain nombre de producteurs pas du tout choisis au hasard, principalement new-yorkais, afin qu'ils samplent ces rythmes, ces grooves, ces breaks et ces scratches pour créer quelque chose d'encore nouveau. Dj Shadow, Ammoncontact, Cut Chemist, King Britt, O.H.N.O., the Quantic Soul Orchestra, J Rocc, Daedalus et quelques autres sont de la partie et la compile en résultant est plus que surprenante. On ne croit pas un instant écouter une compilation, mais bien un album, fluide et cohérent, hip hop funky bien sûr mais surtout très trippé, cosmique et psychédélique. Tout cela est compilé avec quelques bonus dans un superbe package CD/DVD que Ninja Tune distribuent pour l'Europe, à choper au plus vite.

Brasilintime Breaks (Special Edition)

This record is not a repress but the same batch of 250 pressed ever. However, 50 leftovers added with an original photo from the film on sleeve (each one different) are being planned for sale. I got lucky and got hold of one. For collectors only as the price will be super high for these babies. The record has alot of nice loops and samples, all unique. The only 'heard before' sample was a Kurtis Blow track taken from 'The Breaks'.
